In the third quarter of 2025, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Kenya demonstrated diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Truecaller: Spam Call Blocker showed a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 92K in early August. The app's weekly revenue also varied, starting at $1.9K and closing the quarter at $1.5K. Active users steadily increased from 6.3M to 6.5M by the end of September.

Telegram experienced a significant spike in downloads in mid-July, reaching around 71K. Revenue saw a peak of $2.7K in early August, before settling at $1.5K by the end of the quarter. Active user numbers showed a slight decline from 3.5M to 3.3M over the same period.

Vyke: Second Phone/2nd Line maintained stable revenue, with weekly figures around $1K throughout the quarter. Downloads were relatively low, with a peak of 465 in early August. Active users increased slightly from 3K to approximately 3.3K.

Fanytel - Virtual Phone Number saw a gradual increase in revenue, closing the quarter at $1K. Downloads showed an upward trend, peaking at 995 in September. Active users grew steadily from 1.7K to 2.2K.

Numero: eSIM Travel & 2nd Line had a consistent performance in downloads, peaking at 1.5K in early September. Revenue fluctuated slightly, ending at $594. Active users rose from 4.9K to 5.6K by the end of the quarter.
